Sal is the founder of Exotic Pet Birds inc. As owner/founder and a Certified Avian Specialist, he works to enhance, expand and educate here at Exotic Pet Birds inc.  As an owner he ensures all staff is well trained, all pets are cared for/loved; and that all customers have a great experience.

Avicultural Background:

Aside from having raised literally thousands of different species of parrots from baby chicks to fully-fledged adult birds, Sal has built an impressive background in Aviculture. Sal, serves as a Northeastern Regional Legislative Delegate for the American Federation of Aviculture. He also serves on AFA’s Legislative committee. He regularly coordinates with other Bird Store owners, Bird Breeders, Veterinarians and other trade industry groups to confirm the latest trends are applied in our facility.

​Sal has a strong focus on community engagement, he produced Rochester’s only Pet Call in show that is run every Saturday from 12-1 on I heart Radio. There he is joined by Cohosts Sedona and Maddie from the company. The three spend 1 hour answering pet questions on any topic the community has. The show gives tips and tricks on improving animal welfare, and gives the community the opportunity to tap into some highly educated pet experts for advice free of charge! The production of this show is yet another resource that the staff of Exotic Pet Birds Inc is highly proud of as it gives the community the opportunity to learn more about proper enrichment for all types of pets. “The best part of Iheart radio is that our reach is far and wide, extending to outside of Rochester, NY.
