Why overly reinvest the profits? Let’s take a ride together as I explain that to you!

Long before EPBI / EPRI was created in the physical world, it lived in my head. It was warm and cozy and was protected by me. It wasn’t until I took the giant leap of faith to bring the company out of my head and into the world that the messy process of creating an operation that would house and care for many animals properly set into action.

Once it did, I knew that it would be my sole goal to create the coolest, most inspiring company I could. I wanted to create a company that others would visit and just be blown away. I knew that if I was going to do this, I wanted two things:

A.) I always wanted to be immensely proud of my work

B.) I never wanted to be finished painting the canvas that would be my company and facility.

Why never be done you might wonder?

To me, to be done is to be finished with the journey. I don’t want to stop the journey that’s the best part! I don’t want to know where the train route ends, I want to keep riding the train picking up more friends along the track for the fun! That is the true journey, including more and more people in this dream that busted into reality. I picture a train driving down the way picking up new people to enjoy the ride and new people to hop on and off the train and spread the word of the ride and what fun it is to be apart of the adventure. Today we look back at our little hypothetical train ride and know that our birds were raised right here but live in over 30 of the states in our country! Some as far out as Alaska!!

To me, reinvesting the profits of this company is just so rewarding. It’s the ultimate gift I’m creating for my community. The greatest gift and power I have within me which makes the world just a little cooler. So what’s the fun in running a business that doesn’t pay you that well? To the person who asks this question I dare them to pick a passion and follow it. To me there is no greater impact I can leave on my community that to be the person who’s mind unleashed the ultimate adventure that brings smiles to your heart in every interaction and that gives the world yet another reason to turn off technology and focus on the beautiful bond between humans and animals.

Owning a pet is one of the most rewarding things a parent can expose a child to. It teaches love, nurturing, responsibility and accountability. It gives a feeling of self worth that words alone can’t impart on the brain of a young child. Being a pet owner makes you a better human, and to me, I love that my company makes many young pet owners (guided by adults of course). So to me, that’s my way of setting the world down the right path of creating more well-adjusted people. I proudly overinvest in this place because this is my dream, not my job. I feel deeply blessed to be here working with people I love by my side, helping them all achieve their dreams as we all work to bring my biggest dream to life. I’m surrounded by customers and staff who all think of animals as I do.

If you know me well, you know I don’t usually use the word customers, I call these friends. Friends are those who help you achieve dreams and who support you. That’s what you all do when you read my blogs, learn about our company, buy our products and of course our pets and then repeat. I consider it my part to give back by putting money right back into this crazy cool place we’ve built together so our train ride never ends!
