SAL JOINS THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF AVICULTURE!

This week, I was nominated and voted in by the American Federation of Aviculture to serve as a Northeastern Regional Legislative Delegate. The role allows me to be a voice of Aviculturists in the territory and gives me the responsibility to monitor legislation happening in our territory. I’m honored to have accepted the position and am going to be working to ensure that our territory is monitored closely to ensure legislation is being proposed in the area that affects Aviculture in the North East part of our country.

Recent legislation has been popping up and threatening our rights in this territory, and close inspection of the laws proposed has proven to be strongly misleading the legislators who are trying to protect animals. We strongly want to advocate for animal rights and animal welfare while maintaining the rights of hard-working Aviculturists who do so much for their pet birds. I strongly suggest you join the American Federation of Aviculture if you have not already done so. This membership is a small expense but shows your much-needed support to all of the above, as well as a fantastic education program that the AFA runs. The AFA has been there in disaster relief of territories affected over time. There is so much I love about the organization and support. I proudly accept the new role I was offered to help AFA, as it does amazing things in our territory.
