Amazon Parrots 

Size: 12-14 inches head to tail.

Color: Amazons are primarily green. Most species have other colors in them as well such as yellow, white, purple/blue, and orange.
 

Native Region: Amazons are native to South America, Mexico, and parts of the Caribbean!

Personality and Behavior: Amazons have a very intellectual and reserved temperament. It is not uncommon to find an Amazon sizing up a stranger prior to any physical interaction. This is also known as an excitable posture. Be sure to study your birds excitable posture because there is a point where it is too much. Too much excitement can cause your bird to get nippy and may result in a bite. If they are too excited, put them away and give them some time to cool off.

Speech and Sound: These birds are very good talkers! They can mimic the exact sound and pitch of their owners voice! Amazons are very smart, and can have a vocabulary of up to 1000 words! They can even learn to use different words and phrases in context!

Diet: Amazons should be offered fruits and veggies daily.
